Inpatient recovery programs, or residential treatment, require patients check themselves into a controlled environment to overcome their addictions.
Programs for outpatient treatment vary. They provide assistance a few times a week for a limited amount of hours. Outpatient treatment provides a level of flexibility and requires self accountability.
A halfway house is an institution that allows individuals to learn (or relearn) the necessary skills to re-integrate into society. As well as serving as a residence, they provide social, medical, psychiatric, educational, and other similar services.
Support groups are offered as a space where individuals can come together to share their experience, strength and hope. Oftentimes, we think we are struggling alone, but we realize that there are others who may dealing with similar situations.
